ZSOFIA OPRA-SZABO
Writer-Director Zsofia Opra-Szabo is an emerging new filmmaker with background in theatre design. Originally from Hungary, Budapest, Zsofia is interested in crossing the boundaries between theatre, film and puppetry. Her stop-motion animation SHORT film was influenced by her original experimental art project. For her project “Sophia”, Zsofia has received funding from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts as well as Edmonton Arts council and FAVA- Film and Video Society, Alberta. Currently, Zsofia is working as a stop motion animation filmmaker and teaching theatre design at University of Alberta. |
GREGORY MULYK
Music-Sound Greg Mulyk is a Canadian composer, sound artist, and pianist. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Alberta, where he is also currently pursing graduate studies in Music Composition. His research interests are focused in electroacoustic composition, including human-computer interaction in live performance, algorithmic music, and with music and sound design for film and video game industries. Greg has composed music for two local feature length films, Q4: Dream Corporation (2017), and Sure Shot Dombrowski: The Early Years (2016). EVA COLMERS
Producer Eva Colmers is an independent filmmaker who has written, directed and/or produced over a dozen award-winning short films in the dramatic, experimental and documentary genre including 2.57k, We Regret to Inform You…, Granny Baby, The Weightless Traveller, End of the Rope and Luz. She has also written and directed two feature documentaries for the National Film Board of Canada: The Elder Project and The Enemy Within. Her films have been screened at many prestigious, international festivals as well as on television and she has received several awards for her accomplishments. With a background in theatre, Colmers also creates visual background for theatre-, dance- and music performances and enjoys collaborating with different artists in her city of Edmonton and beyond. SCOTT PORTINGALE
Animation mentor Scott Portingale is filmmaker/animator that employs the use of stop-motion animation, and time-lapse photography into his work. His films have screened at festivals all over the world and have won multiple awards. Occasionally Scott will emerge from his black box animation studio to freelance. He has worked as a producer, director, cinematographer, photographer, and animator for NGOs and production companies locally and internationally.
